— ABOCI Class Information —

All Breed Obedience Club is a non-profit group dedicated to the development of the canine/human bond. We foster the three levels of dog ownership that a dog can be a pet, a companion, and a partner. Our various activities at centrally located Allied Gardens Recreation Center in San Diego, in the vicinity of Interstate 8 and Waring Road, include classes, practice sessions, Show & Goes, Flyball, Obedience Trials, and more!

Our club includes experienced dog trainers offering classes to the public. Our Beginning Pet Dog Training Class and Intermediate Pet Dog Training / Canine Good Citizenship Class, when available, are 7 weeks, and emphasize basic good pet obedience. Our competition classes, when available, cater to the serious competitor. We welcome ALL dogs — mixed breeds, as well as purebred — in all of our classes, matches and activities!

BEGINNING PET DOG OBEDIENCE - Dogs ages 4 months and up

We are pleased to have our own Geri Dimeglio as our instructor for this class.

ABSOLUTELY NO AGGRESSIVE DOGS!!

This is a 6-week course, one hour lessons from 5:00 to 6:00 pm on Monday evenings. The cost is $50 for members and $75 for non-members. This class will be limited to 8 dogs.

Using positive methods of learning this class will teach you how to reward good behaviors and discourage less desirable ones. Whether you've already started your dog on the road to 'good manners' with puppy kindergarten, your older dog needs a refresher, or you've just added a new member to your family, there's something here for you. Learn the basics such as 'sit', 'down', 'stay', 'come' and 'leave it' as well as other behaviors such as 'go to your mat' and how to walk nicely on a leash. Other topics such as nutrition, separation anxiety, resource guarding and how to speak 'dog'--learn their way of communication with each other and with you.  Discover quite a few ways to reward your dog, either with tasty treats, a game of fetch, or other real life rewards that can motivate him/her to respond in a more 'pawsitive' way toward you and other two- legged members of your 'pack.

For more info and to reserve a spot, e-mail Geri at geridimeglio@yahoo.com (ABOCI in the subject line)
